Interviews
To initiate our research, we sent the following email to the IDII community:
We are doing research into healthy living and obesity prevention for our service design project. We're interested in interviewing anyone who would like to discuss the challenges of weight management, exercise and healthy living.
In addition to a battery of questions, we asked interviewees to place the 13 issues along a "control" and "no control" axis. The issues involved general concepts related to food, products, and activity levels, such as product packaging, time management, exercise, and portions sizes.
By comparing our expected results (mapped by us prior the interviews) to the results of the interviews, we hoped to identify some general control trends and particular issues that people responded to with conflicting information.
We were very interested in how the notion of control varied between people and how it influenced their life and the choices they made.
